Seminoles Football 2011
The 2011 football season is here and the Seminoles appear to have a great year ahead of them. As the football team brings people together and visitors to town, the Florida Beta actives would like to invite the alumni to a small, informal pre-tailgate gathering.
Starting with the Oklahoma game Saturday, September 17, the actives will receive alumni guests from 3 pm to 6 pm in the courtyard of the complex where they live. This is not what most of us know as a true “house” but it serves the same purpose. This is a fabulous opportunity to reconnect with the Florida Beta chapter as they continue re-building their presence.
The chapter now has 24 brothers, with the Fall 2011 rush being the best since the chapter returned to campus: 20 pledges and one transfer student. I personally believe the return of our mascot, Leo, was the main reason this rush was so successful! For the better part of the last decade, Leo has been at a protected location on the outskirts of Tallahassee but now he is out front of the complex they call home.
In addition to some light snacks, the actives will be taking photos of you and your family or friends with Leo. The pictures can be emailed to you and we may even upload some on the website!
Address: 603 West Call St at Copeland - Just look for Leo.
(next to the Fine Arts Annex, across from the
Housewright
Music Building and caddy corner to the Delta Gamma house).
Onsite Alumni will be Guy Cockrell
Onsite Active will be current president Tim Brown
I hope that all SAE alumni can show support to our current chapter by stopping by for at least a few minutes. With an 8 pm game, there should be plenty of time to stop by and say “Hello” on the way to your regular tailgate.
